Background History:

Growing up I always hated my curls and my hair would never grow. I probably would of loved my curly hair if it was the length of repunzels but it wasn't.

I used to always ask my mum "Mummy, why dont I have straight hair like yours?" and would beg and beg and beg to have it straightened. I started straightening my hair probably around the age of 9/10 (very young, I know) but I had 0 confidence with my short, frizzy afro. Although I felt a lot prettier with straight hair, it really did damage it and left me with dead ends and breakage which then lead to me having to have inches cut off so I was back with short hair, a vicious and
devestating cycle lol.
About the age of 13 I discovered curly hair extentions so I wore those up until the age of 18 (they did not match my curl type at all and looking back, they were absolutely vile hahah) and then a couple months after I turned 19, I got my first sew in weave and since then, I've had 4/5 others. My hair grew SO much just by having weave in, being plaitted and not touched really helped it to grow and I would recommend getting a sew in to ANYONE who is contemplating it. Do whatever makes you happy, girlll.

So now, I've decided to go natural with my hair, have my real curls, my real texture and see if I can grow it. This is a MAJOR thing for me because as I said earlier, I really dont have much confidence with my real hair but as i mentioned before, it has grown lots since I started wearing weave so.. lets give it ago

Above are my current hair products that I use on a day to day basis.

Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie
"Defines curls, reduces frizz and smoothes hair for a soft, silky feel. Restores moisture, creates brilliant shine and conditions hair without weighing it down."

I absolutely fu**ing looveeeee this product SO much and i'm so happy I found it online. It does everything that it says on the packaging and the smell is TO DIE FOR! It really tightens my curls and makes them more define.

Shea Moisture Thickening Growth Milk
"This lightweight cream softens as it works to boost body and strengthen hair. Improves manageability for easy styling"

This product gives me so much volume and it really does thicken your hair. It creates bouncy curls without creating frizz and a little goes a very long way.

Can I just mention that these Shea Moisture Products are made from Organic and Natural Ingredients.

Fantasia Carrot Growth Serum

This is maybe one of the products that I think I'm going to do a review on in the next couple of months just to see if it really does make your hair grow. However, it gives the most gorgeous shine to your curls and locks in the moisture from the other products that I have used. I tend to rub this into my scalp and then on the ends of my hair.

Umberto Giannini Scrunching Jelly
"Take control and turn unmanageable curls shiny, defined and touchable. This amazing Scrunching Jelly is liquid shine & define for curls of all types."

I use this product to 'scrunch' my hair with just for that extra bounce and definition. It also smells incredible.

So that is everything that i'm currently using on my hair at the moment. I highly recommend the Shea Moisture products for mixed race/black girls w/ curly hair. If you know of any other products that are good for maintaining curls but also enhancing and volumizing, please let me know because I would LOVE to try them.
Also, leave a comment if you would like me to film a Youtube Video on my hair routine so you can see how I apply the products?

Lots of love, always.
