Has anyone else attempted to make American Pancakes for what seems like a million times? Me too! I feel like i've googled a thousand recipes and none of them have seemed to work for me and my little pan. Then I found Jamie Oliver's one online and THANK GOD I did. Heres how to make 'em.

You will need:
- 3 Medium Size Eggs
- 115g Plain Flour
- 1 Heaped Tea Spoon of Baking Powder
- 140ml of Milk
- 1 pinch of salt
I also added a teaspoon of Vanilla Extract, this isnt in the original recipe but I added it anyways.

Step one:
Seperate the eggs putting the yolks into one bowl and the egg whites into another.

Step two:
Weigh out the flour and the milk (if you havent done this step already) then add the flour, baking powder and milk into the yolks and mix until you get a thick, creamy batter.

Step 3:
Whisk the egg whites with the salt until they form a thick meringue like mixture. Bare in mind that they need to be fluffy and firm, not fluffy and runny.

Step 4: Pour the fluffy egg whites into the batter mix and FOLD in the mixture to create a thick pancake batter.

Step 5: Put your pan onto a medium heat, wait for it to warm up and then voila!
Start pouring..

You can of course make as many pancakes as you like, I think this serving made me 8 or 9 but it just depends on how much batter you put on each and how thick you want them.

I ate mine with strawberries, caramel sauce (I had no maple syrup - cry cry) and a side of crispy bacon.

These are THE BEST pancakes I have ever made and its all thanks to Jamie Oliver.
