Valentine's, Self Love Tips

So 'that' day has come, the dreaded 14th of February where couples celebrate being together and we are bombarded with pictures on Instagram of roses, cards, MK watches and Christian Louboutins. I've always LOVED valentines, whether I'm in a relationship or not. However this is for all the single ladies feeling very lonely, wanting to stuff their faces with Ben and Jerrys Ice Cream and cry into a pillow whilst watching The Notebook haha. We've all been there girls :) however I've written a few of my favourite quotes and some of my tips and tricks to getting you on to your own 'self love' journey. 

Self Acceptance is seeing yourself through somebody else's eyes and being happy with what you see. We are surrounded by people's opinions and judgement all the time and we seem to get ourselves lost in the online world and forget what and who really matters, that is yourself. 

So begin waking up and drinking a huge glass of water, it sounds silly but you've just gone 6-8 hours without fluids, you're dehydrated and your mood will lift instantly.

 Try not to look on social media as soon as you wake up, get out of bed and stretch, do yoga or meditate. All three of these things will release stress from your body and relax your muscles. 

Take a bubble bath or a hot shower and listen to your top 5 favourite songs. 

Talk yourself happy. Look in the mirror and tell yourself that you are beautiful and worthy, list 3 things you like about yourself that day and note them down somewhere. 

Take up a hobby, something that you love or even something that you've never tried before but always wanted to, you never know just how in love with it you might be. 

Take a walk and have some time for yourself. Fresh air and the outdoors is a great way of cleansing your mind and bad thoughts. Dust them away. 

Breathe, every time you feel stressed, just take a minute to breathe. Be patient with yourself. 

Show gratitude. Be grateful for everything you have in your life and appreciate all the things that you are good at. Love yourself, flaws and all.

Eat good, exercise regularly and drink plenty of water.
Be good to your body and your body will be good to you.

You're a perfectly valuable, creative, worthwhile person simply because you exist. No amount of triumphs and tribulations can ever change that. Unconditional self-acceptance is the core of a peaceful mind.
