Paris Photo Diary | Day One

So we landed at the Charles De Gaulle airport in Paris at around 9am (8am UK time) and got a taxi straight to our hotel. The drive was meant to take around 20-25 minutes but actually took around 40 because of the traffic leading up to the city centre, which was where our hotel was located. We stayed at Hotel Kleber which was on the Champs Elysees Avenue and it was stunning. I didn't get too many pictures but I highly recommend staying there, it's in the perfect location and the staff are so helpful, polite and lovely.

When we arrived, our room wasn't ready but that was okay as we knew it wouldn't be until 1:30pm-2:00pm. So we left our bags in reception and headed straight out for a wonder and to get some food. As we left the hotel and turned the first corner, I literally screamed with excitement because there it was, the Eiffel Tower right in front of me. The monument that I had been waiting and wishing to see my whole entire life, right there. I couldn't believe it.

We walked up the street a little bit and there were restaurants upon restaurants, bars upon bars but we noticed one in particular with green paint work and big chalk boards across the road, so we went for that one. Can I just say that Paris is one of the most expensive places I have ever been to in my entire life, I can't quite believe how much it costs just for a Sprite or a Coke. If you're thinking about going there, please do because it's beautiful, however my advice would be to SAVE for your trip. We spent around £500 just for four days, that's with us eating out for every meal as the hotel wasn't all inclusive and of course sight seeing/shopping.

After lunch, we wandered back to the hotel and waited in the lobby until our room was ready. The wifi at the hotel was outstanding and so was the wifi in almost every restaurant we went to, just ask if they have it and they will very kindly give you the code. Once the room was ready, we we're sent with our bags and key to level 3, room 301. First impressions of the room were good, it was clean, smelt fresh and had really rustic, French-style wardrobes/cupboards which I loved. Also, the bath was bloody huge. Looked like a jacuzzi with a seat and I felt posh, haha.

After settling in, unpacking etc. We had a nap for about two hours because we were both so knackered from being up at 3am but as soon as we woke up, we felt refreshed and was ready to head out again. We walked to the Trocadero which was about an 8-9 minute walk from the hotel and that's where you'll find the most amazing view of the Eiffel Tower (see pics above).

We took pictures, got a fresh pineapple and mango juice, chilled on the grass and just soaked everything in. I was so happy to be there because if you know me, you will know that Paris is my favourite city in the whole world and it felt like a dream come true. After about two hours, we headed down to see the Eiffel Tower up close which was bloody mental and then walked along the River Seine (which FYI, is the same river that Madeline fell in if you've ever seen that movie) and then went for dinner.

After we had finished eating, we headed back to the square and decided to get on one of those Vespa buggies (Graces idea, not mine) and my god, it was a good choice! It was so funny, I laughed all the way and people were smiling and waving. Make sure you get on one of those if you ever visit. We got some funny snaps with the driver but they are far too embarrassing and quite frankly hideous to upload. He took us back to the Trocadero where we headed back home to the hotel, by this time it was around 11pm which meant bath, pyjamas and lights out.

Ready for day deux.

Lots of love, Charleigh X

I'm glad you mentioned the vespa's because I totally forgot about those, I definitely want to give it a try! I'm trying so hard to save too cause I know it gets really expensive but after buying a flight from NYC but I'm saving pretty well I just can't really splurge on things right now but it'll all be worth it! I cannot wait and I plan on blogging about it. I want to create a lifestyle blog so this trip may be one of my first posts
