MY 9 DAY CLENSE

If there is one thing I'm completely shite at, its dieting. I'm in a position where I'm not 100% happy with my body but I also cannot give up chocolate cake for the life of me. About 6 weeks ago, I decided to start healthy eating and make better choices with my food without putting a label on it and without telling myself that it's a diet.. because I never stick to them. Although it's been a struggle, I've stuck to the 'healthy eating' so far and I'm happy with that.

About 3 weeks ago, my friend Alex came to me about her own business she had just started and offered to send me some products to try out. Can I mention that this post isn't sponsored, I'm not being paid to write this but I have been sent these products for free. I accepted the offer but made it very clear that I'm going to be 100% honest with my review, in terms of how good the products are and whether they actually work.
Plus, if they did work, it would help boost my weight loss, right?

What I Received:

So I received a box full of two Aloe Vera drinking gels, which are packed with minirals and vitamins, which help to cleanse the body of toxins to help boost your immune system. A Vanilla protein powder (you can choose between Vanilla or Chocolate), which is soya based, so it not only feeds new muscle but unlike most protein, it feeds old muscle too. Three types of supplements to speed your metabolism, boost your energy and are also full of fibre. 1 shake flask, 1 gel cup, 1 measuring tape and a step to step guide of the cleanse, meal ideas and exercise plans.

What I Did:

Right.. first of all, let's just talk about the Aloe Vera. This is what I was most worried about and sweet mother of god, I had every right to be. It is one of THE most disgusting things I have ever tasted, there is no words to describe lol. You really just have to hold your nose, knock it back and have water at the ready, straight after your two shots. Unfortunately, the gel is a key factor in the cleanse and helps with the weight loss, so you have to drink it. The protein shake however.. tastes so good. I would definately recommend the Vanilla one and it is extremely filling.

I'm not going to go through the whole plan with you, you will have to find that out for yourself when/if you give it a try. But, the first two days, really are a full cleanse and by that I mean, you only eat your free foods and nothing else but Aloe Vera, supplements and water. You are also allowed one shake for Lunch but I had it for my dinner instead because it fits into my day better. On the first day,  I found it quite difficult, I'm so used to picking up a packet of crisps for a snack and I couldn't do that. I felt very light headed and lethargic, I was asleep by 10:50pm that night. The second day, the light headedness became worse, so I filled up on more free foods to try and get extra natural sugars in. Apparently, if you're used to having a lot of caffeine: tea... coffee... chocolate etc (I was having all three of those) then the dizziness basically means that your body is flushing out those toxins, which is disgusting when you think about it.  Surprisingly, both of these days, I didn't feel hungry at all which blew my mind because normally, if I ate as little as I did in Day 1 and 2, I would have the worst stomach cramps and hunger pains. So I knew the supplements and gel were really working.

On days 3 to 9, I was able to have two shakes a day and include a 600 calorie meal for dinner, HALLELUJAH. People were constantly saying to me "I bet you're so happy that you can eat later" and honestly, I was more excited that I was going to eat something different, not because I was starving because truthfully, I wasn't. I also filled up on my free fruits and vegetables.

Day 9 quickly came around and I was extremely happy with myself for completing the 9 day cleanse. I could of done it again, 10 times over and I am planning on doing it again, with ease.

Now you're all reading this and thinking "Okay.. but how much did you lose? does it work?"
and my answer is YES, yes it does.
In the first two days I lost 12.5 pounds and by day 9, I had lost 21 pounds, a stone and a half.
I followed the plan correctly, I included exercise which was 30 minutes of Zumba and I ate my free foods in moderation.

I also measured my progress in inches and these are the results:

I lost an inch and a half on my biceps.
I lost an inch off my hips.
I lost 4 and a half inches off my thighs.
I lost an inch and a half off my calves.
My waist stayed the same and my chest actually went up 2 inches but I think thats because its the time of the month.

So now that I've kick started my weight loss, saw real results, its made it a lot easier for me to continue.

Blogging Apps That You Need

Blog Touch Pro

Ironically, I'm using this app to write this post. Blog Touch Pro is an app for blogger that allows you write blog posts wherever you are. It has all the features that you need to write a post, all the fonts, the alignments, the ability to upload photos etc. You can publish your posts, add posts to your drafts, add labels etc. However, I always check what the post looks like on my iMac before I click publish on here because sometimes, the alignments look fine on your phone but on a computer screen, it's completely different. This is probably one of my favourite apps to use, especially because I don't have a laptop, only an iMac and sometimes, I feel the most creative at 12am at night when I'm already tucked up in bed, so being able to write down all of my thoughts in one place, on my phone, is epic.

Buffer App.

Buffer is an app that allows you to schedule your tweets and your Instagram posts. This makes it 10x easier for when you're at work, out doing other bits and bobs but still want to promote your blog and posts.

Phonto.

This is the app that I use to write captions and titles OVER my blog photos. I don't know what it is but when I'm promoting my posts on my Twitter, sharing it on blog accounts etc. I always think it looks better when I have a caption over the flat lay, am I making sense? I hope so. It's super easy to use, you upload a photo, they give you filters (if you wish to use them) and then you add your text. Lots of fonts, styles and colours to choose from AND it's free.

Blogging Guide.

If you're new to the blogging world, this app gives you all the tips, tricks and a step by step guide in creating the perfect blog. You can also watch tutorials on the app and learn how to write, edit and publish a post.

Google Analytics.

This app is great for when you want to check the traffic on your blog. You can view real time analytics, the location of your audience and help you to plan ahead and improve your overall engagement.

Blog Lovin.

You can follow blogs this way, keep up to date with posts, like, comment and share. I am always on bloglovin as I get notifications when the people I follow, have uploaded new content. You can follow me here

Dealing With Toxic People

Your friend has always acted differently around you, always leaves you out of things, accidentially forgets to invite you to places, tries to embarrass you and lies to you a lot. Your boyfriend calls you names, makes comments about your weight, points out other girls in the street, that you feel are prettier than you and never compliments you. Your colleague ignores your suggestions, makes you feel stupid, sniggers and laughs as you walk past.

Do any of these sound familiar?

I have a zero tolerance policy for bullshitters, liars and manipulators. Those people who gossip and enjoy playing the victim 90% of the time are completely toxic and need to be avoided. I've come across my fair share of Narcissists and sociopaths in my lifetime and nothing good ever comes from them, just a shit load of tears and a dead end friendship/relationship. Sometimes we don't notice these 'qualities' until we feel like it's too late, but it's not. It's never too late to break free from toxicity and shitty people that no longer serve you purpose.

Debbie Downers, Judgemental Jimmys and Manipulating Megan's. None of these people are happy unless they see you unhappy and unfortunately, sometimes it's hard to figure out who they really are and if they're genuine or not. However, if you give them the rope, they will most probably end up hanging themselves and eventually, true colours will show.
Always trust your gut, when you feel like someone has bad intentions with you, you are probably right and at that very moment, you need to take action and leave. Toxic people always see themselves as the victims, no matter how horribly they have treated someone else. Their lies, abuse and dishonesty won't matter. To them, you will always be the problem.

Carry on being a good person, keep moving forward the best you can. The same way karma works for bad people, it also works for the good, so.. hold tight. Don't pay no mind to bad minded people
The only way to win against a narcissist, is to not play.

BREAKFAST AT BILLS

Its finally Saturday ya'll and I'm soooo happy about that. This week has actually been really, really good. I attended the Tangle Teezer Disney press launch on Tuesday and it was so, so lovely! I finally got to meet the girls that have been super lovely towards me for way over a year now and constantly send me blog mail, so I'm very grateful and happy about that. Seeing as we were in London that day, we went and got Macarons in Covent Garden, went out for lunch and went into M&M World in Leicester Square and then went shopping in Oxford Street.

This morning, me and Charlotte went to Bills for breakfast. I go to Bills quite often but believe it or not, I had never been there before 1pm in the afternoon, so I would always miss their morning menu. I had high expectations for the pancakes and my god, they did not disappoint. Me and Char were a little bit greedy and our eyes were far too big for our bellies, we both ordered the 5 stack instead of the 3 and neither of us managed to finish - oops.

We also had Hot Chocolate and Charlotte had an orange juice as well. Overall, the breakfast was phenomenal, you honestly can't beat buttermilk pancakes, can ya? I would 100% recommend this place for brekkie, if you haven't been already.
